The Ideal Way To Display Your Chinese Bowls
Chinese bowls or fine china are a way to bring beauty, elegance, and something a little expensive to your home. You can put them on display, use for special occasions like holidays, or family get-together, maybe even for celebrations like birthdays or any other kind of milestone.
I personally feel like locking it away; something so beautiful should be treasured. If you do however feel the need to display, you can get a standard china cabinet but don’t feel like this is your only option, you can always put them in the kitchen cabinet, place them on a shelf on the wall, or even display them on a table somewhere. You can find Chinese bowls and fine china in most homeware stores, antique stores, you can even try garage sales to see what you might find.
Here are my suggestions how you can display your Chinese bowls or fine china.
China Cabinet
This is by far the most traditional and common way to display any kind of fine china, Chinese bowls, or ceramics you might have. This kind of storage allows you to display your china without them getting really dusty, plus such cabinet provides a maximum impact visually. Most cabinets even come with inbuilt lighting so you can easily draw someone’s eye to the cabinet. The trick is to arrange your china thoughtfully not randomly, try and get creative and see what you come up with.
Kitchen Cabinet
If you have a spacious kitchen, remove some of the cabinet doors and replace them with glass doors so you can easily create a nice space to display china there. You can stack the plates or bowls and just leave a few pieces showing; you really need to play around with the space you have and the design you have in mind to create something you will truly love and cherish. This can work in almost any room that has cabinets up high so if you don’t want it in your kitchen you can basically put your china anywhere.
Around the House
Don’t feel like having a cabinet is an absolute must – you can easily incorporate your fine china and Chinese bowls in other ways around your home. If you have a set consider breaking it up by putting a few pieces on a coffee table or bookshelf, or maybe in the foyer. You can fill the bowls with water and add some floating candles or with potpourri. If you have small kids or animals that might knock them over then maybe this isn’t the best option for you.
On a Wall
If you don’t have that much space but still want your china to be the focus of your room consider replacing bulky, big cabinets with slim shelves and displaying your china there. This is great as it really brings focus to one place in the room and acts like an art piece as well. Try mixing random patterns of Chinese bowls and china for an interesting look.
On a Table
If you have a big dining table that you do not use that often, or is maybe reserved only for special occasions why not set out your set into a formal dining setting. This is great for someone who has a dining room all set up but doesn’t really eat there much. Even if you do, it’s a great way to use your china at family time and it will add a touch of class and elegance to your home.
