Rustic Table: The Ideal Summerish Outdoor Addition
When summer finally gets you out of the comfort of your home and lures you into going out and enjoying the wonderful greenery and sun, you really don’t want to feel like that’s not a big deal. Winter going away is a big deal because no one likes to be freezing and be stuck at home most of the time, right? So when summer finally comes, it’s smart to greet it in a stylish way by turning your outdoors into a summer oasis where you and your family would spend most of your time together.
I’ve always been a fan of wooden furniture pieces because their colour (in most products) is a warm brownish. It perfectly completes every room ambiance: spring combinations with a lot of fresh nuances like green, blue or red, and even the winter-y ones – when everything is white outside and all you can hear inside is the sound of your fireplace. For this particular season, I have set my eyes on a very functional and stylish design idea: placing a large rustic outdoor table in my backyard and pairing it with a few outdoor chairs, so when Sunday comes, I can easily gather my entire family for a barbecue dinner.
So, a rustic outdoor table is usually a large wooden table which is why it’s not exactly the type of table you’d use indoors. Maybe you could use it if you have a very large dining space in a summer room, otherwise, it’s just too massive. The beauty of the rustic table is that it’s quite versatile, meaning – you can use it with different types of chairs.
Vintage sophistication with iron chairs
When you pair the massivity of the rustic table with the rather ‘rough’ elegance of the iron chairs, you get vintage sophistication in your backyard. Whether you place this combination of materials in the middle of a grass surface or on a wooden patio, it would fit perfectly.
Rustic all the way!
The term rustic actually means ‘rural’ and often refers to things that are not sophisticated enough, that are simple and artless. However, the furniture design crowd used this definition to turn it into a trend in the interior/exterior design world; having all pieces of furniture made of the same material and maybe decorated with different style decorations is a story of its own. Pair the rustic table with chairs in the same style and decorate everything with some flowery green arrangements, maybe some cushions for sitting and table candles.
Plastic and wicker chairs
Just like iron chairs do their thing by being vintage-y marvellous, wicker and plastic chairs do their thing by being practically beautiful. Wicker is an all timer and goes with practically everything. Plus, wicker is quite easy to maintain and you can decorate these chairs with cushions for added comfort.
